Manticore Films was set up by Writer-Director Rupert Ratcliffe primarily with the goal of producing his own projects.
The idea expanded and Manticore Films has become a platform to attract like-minded creatives, professionals and financiers – to make ambitious films with artistic merit that challenge perceptions, entertain audiences and provide returns for investors.

Rupert is an Anglo-Iranian writer, director, producer, actor and businessman from London.
His lifelong passion for film led him to establish Manticore Films in 2021, as a vehicle for his own projects and as a platform to collaborate with like-minded professionals, to create ambitious projects that challenge societal perceptions and entertain audiences.
Rupert completed his debut short film CAN I HELP? in 2021, which screened at numerous festivals internationally and won several nominations and awards, including Best UK Short Film at the BIFA Qualifying North East International Film Festival (NEIFF), Best First Time Filmmaker at Ignite Film Festival, Best Actor at BAFTA Qualifying British Urban Film Festival (BUFF) and Hollywood Foreign Press Scholarship Award, as part of the Asian World Film Festival in Los Angeles.
Rupert directed his second short film GOING – a Manticore Films Production written by Brad Brookes – in 2024. The film premiered at Oscar Qualifying Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival and recently won Best UK Short Film at the BIFA Qualifying North East International Film Festival (NEIFF).
Outside of film, Rupert runs two property firms focused on investment, development and asset management. Much of this professional skillset has been directly transferable to running a production company from top down.
